The Publicity Secretary of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Chris Nosa Nehikhare has advised a former deputy governor of the state, Mr. Lucky Imasuen to always stand on the side of the people he once aspired to govern.
Chris Nehikhare was responding to Imasuen`s attack on him and the PDP on Wednesday ,where he accused the party of not speaking of the true situation of things and asserted that governor Obaseki was “performing well”, asking “Chris and his cohorts” to allow the governor space to turn Edo around.
Edo PDP had in the wake of the worsen security situation in the state, advised governor Godwin Obaseki to stay at home in the state and fix the cases of armed robbery and kidnapping that have bedeviled the state in the last eleven months and grown terribly bad in the last one month.
But in a swift reaction to Imasuen`s, statement, Nehikhare reminded him of how he became whatever he is today politically with the help of the PDP before he decamped to the APC on the eve of the 2016 governorship election in the state.
Recall that Mr. Lucky Imasuen was appointed chief of staff to the Edo state government and deputy governor to Prof Osareimhen Osunbor, both as a member of the PDP, before the appeal court removed them from office in 2008, after two failed attempts to be governor from other political parties.

Dear Mr. Lucky Eghosasere Imasuen,
My name is Chris Osa Nehikhare and I am the State Publicity Secretary of PDP Edo State. I wrote the press release titled Edo State Under Siege: Absentee Governor needed at home.
I am shocked that you referred to me as “one Chris Enehikhare, the publicity secretary of PDP and others”. I would appreciate a clarification so Edolites can determine if this blunder was done in error, ignorance or in servitude to your new friends.
Mr Lucky Imasuen, your response to my press release was most bemusing to say the least. Thankfully, after nearly two years of inactivity, like a semi-extinct volcano, you erupted spewing molten “alternative facts” and illogic. With one breath, you concurred that the state security situation is dire, but as the Servitor you have become, you mumble “…much as I am not contented with the current security situation in the state, I refused to align with Chris Enehikhare and his cohorts. The reasons are not far-fetched. It is crystally clear even to the blind man that Mr. Godwin Obaseki is doing all that are humanly possible to nip the situation in the bud”. Some clarity would have been required, but we get your drift!
Your continuous use of the words Chris and his cohorts was most uncharitable and delusional. Is it that you forgot that Chris and his Cohorts made you Chief of Staff to a governor, Deputy Governor, State Vice Chairman and State Coordinator of federal government Sure-P program? I think and I believe you should talk to and refer to us, PDP, with some respect. We earned it!
Nothing could be more ludicrous than your loyalty test paper titled “ RE: EDO STATE UNDER SIEGE. You once aspired to be governor, can you honestly say the life of the people you wanted to serve is better than it was 10 years ago? You know they cannot access a better health care system than was available 10 years ago, you know they have no jobs and have no hope of getting any, you know they cannot afford to meet their basic needs, you know they are told that Edo University Iyamoh is not for the poor, you know that they are told that the new ward of Central Hospital is not for the poor, you know that they are told the pensioners are sponsored for asking for their entitlement, you know that this government has introduced a new phrase “audit waiver” in the state payment voucher. You should know that the campaigns are over and its time to roll-up the sleeves and get to work. Parroting government propaganda materials should be beneath you. A governor announcing that he is partnering over 168 different bodies, individuals, associations, meetings, streets, old, young etc in one year is a recipe for failure!
Mr Imasuen, It will be in the interest of Edo people if “you partner” with us to tell truth to power. Time for campaign and flattering governors has past.
Edo Deserves Better.
Your Good Friend,
Chris Osa Nehikhare
SPS PDP Edo State
PS: I didn’t refer to you as former deputy governor because your new friends made it clear that you were never a deputy governor as your election was declared null and void by the appeal court on November 11th, 2008.
