Thorgan Hazard has joked that he and brother Eden Hazard did their best to keep the ball away from Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku in Belgium‘s 4-0 thumping of Cyprus.

Belgium became the first European side to secure a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia earlier this month but Roberto Martinez continued to pick strong teams in their final qualification matches. Chelsea star Hazard started on Tuesday night and scored an impressive double as he returns to full fitness, while the forward’s brother Thorgan joined in the fun with a goal in the 52nd minute.

Batshuayi was unable to find a goal at Heysel Stadium but Lukaku did manage to get himself on the scoresheet just 12 minutes after replacing Thomas Meunier.

‘Before the game, we had told Michy he wouldn’t touch the ball because we were going to play with each other all the time,’

Thorgan Hazard admitted after Belgium’s win. ‘In the end, it’s a shame Romelu [Lukaku] scored at the end, otherwise there would have only been the name Hazard on the scoresheet.
