It was an emotion filled atmosphere, in a large but tastefully furnished living room of Dr Charles Usigbe, as he played host to the rest of the Jeremiah Usigbe`s family in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America last weekend to hold a memorial get-together in remembrance of their late mother, Madam Christiana Usigbe who left this world some twenty years ago.
Family members, friends business associates and church members who graced the occasion were treated to nice meals of different African delicacies, as well as Nigerian music, such as “sweet mother” by Nicho Mbaka etc.
Speaker after speaker extolled the sterling virtues of their late mother who lived an exemplary life while on earth.
First to speak was the first son of the family, Dr Charles Usigbe who took the audience through the journey of how the mother always admonished him as the eldest son to always make sure that there was love, peace and unity within the family and to pray always for his siblings.
Speaking later, the most senior sister, Mrs Agnes Uzeh, reminded the family of the need to continue to live as one even as the mother had always wished, Taking the audience back in the days when herself and the mom were always around each other like sisters, Mrs Agnes said. “my mother and I were so close that people thought we were sisters”.
Pastor Solomon and his amiable wife, Mrs Caroline Ogbodo also shared their lovely and unforgettable experiences they had with Mrs Christiana Usigbe as a caring mother-inlaw as well.
According to Caroline, “my first three kids were living so well as little kids and people around felt they were children of a multi millionaire, but it was my mother`s efforts who would always brought in different boxes of cloths for my children, I will never ever forget my mom”.
Dr. Charles later prayed for his siblings, as admonished by the late mom, calling them out one after the other for prayers.

Francisca Iyere who also gave beautiful account of her closeness to her mom and how she almost did not make after the mom`s demise, Rosemary and their spouses were not left out in the praying section.
